sarahlogic@sarahlogic.comWhere are we all in the scheme of things? Is this world real or am I just drifting like most of the mindless individuals around me. For years, I have been trying to figure out what it is that makes the world like this... what it is that causes the poor man in Queens, NY to believe that aliens are sending radioactive signals through his bedroom window, or why the employees at the Observer-Reporter newspaper are paid as professionals, but still have yet to understand the aesthetics of newspaper pagination or the technology of the computers they are expected to use every day (employee picks up mouse, holds it in front of computer screen and clicks). Even better: a sportswriter pours toner into the new copying machine, only to find that the new copier requires a cartridge. What was he thinking?
Hopefully, in my process of writing about such philosophical topics, I will touch upon the many other issues that corrupt this world that we live in. Like old people in general. Imagine being the youngest person at a Jim Nabors concert, trampled and kicked by canes and walkers as each and every one of them decides that superiority increases with age. I also ask, why would I subject myself to sitting for 2 hours in the backseat of a car where the only music to ever come through the speakers is Dixie Chicks, Celine Dion, and Dave Matthews, and then to find myself at the National Cathedral singing Moravian Czech Mountain songs that translate to "Little not so tall one, how is your grazing going pretty Veronica?"
